We are a team of thirteen students and five mentors from all over the country, who make up the national robotics team. We are preparing to represent our country in the 2025 FIRST Global Challenge. Our team is made up of some of the most talented young innovators from across the country. The FIRST Global Challenge is an international robotics Olympics that brings together young minds from all over the world. The competition will be held in Panama from the 29th of October to the 1st of November. It is a global competition containing 193+ countries. We hope you will be able to support us as we need to raise €25,000 to take part in this event.
Last year, in Greece, we placed 32nd in Robotics and came 2nd in the New Technology Experience (NTE) globally, meaning we designed a device that the judges thought would benefit the world for the theme “Feeding the Future”. We also ranked joint first in the Social Media Challenges, won a silver medal for our videography and won a total of four awards, making us the best media team in the world in 2024. Overall, we were the most successful Irish team since Ireland began taking part in this competition. This year, we are trying to raise enough funds so we won’t have to worry about underfunding closer to the competition, as happened last year. So, please help us out in representing Ireland this year.
This is who you will be supporting:

I’ve been building things from a young age and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience competing in this competition. I enjoy playing GAA, guitar, learning and making stuff. I am still working on the project we came up with last year and hope to use it to improve the way people farm in Ireland and all over the world.

Hello, I'm Sahas Sawant, a 14 year old second-year student at Confey College and a first-year FGC participant. My previous STEM competition experience includes FLL, VEX V5, and CanSat, where I proudly represented Ireland at the international level. I have a strong interest in coding, mathematics, and science, and I aspire to become an entrepreneur.
All of us are excited to take part this year, with your help, and change the world.
How our Fund will be spent.
This competition is on a global scale, so it involves much travelling to take part. This is what the majority of our funds will be directed towards. Next, there is registration for the competition, which is another main cost; it involves being registered for food, sleeping arrangements and health and safety while at the event. The other costs will include the equipment needed to build out the robot and test the inventions we come up with for the New Technology Experience (NTE). Anything you can give towards helping us is greatly appreciated, and we would love to have you be a part of our journey.
