Those of you who know me, know that I've never done a GoFundMe before, I'm not the most social media proficient person around. Denise and I have been very close friends since elementary school and she, her husband HR and their entire family are VERY special to me. Thank you in advance for reading Denise's summary below. HR was diagnosed at age 49 in August 2014. He had a biopsy done and all 12 cores were positive for cancer with a Gleason score of 9, PSA at 32. His prostate was removed in November of 2014. He then had radiation on the neck of his bladder in 2015. In 2017, HR's PSA started to rise and the cancer had spread to his bones. Doctors followed the protocol with the chemo therapies, but none of them worked as long as they should have. Since 2017, HR has had 4 different types of chemo therapies, radiation to his shoulder and hip, Radium 223, ADT medication, Xgeva and Keytruda. The cancer has now spread to his lymph nodes and lungs. On September 26th, 2019, HR was diagnosed with AML Luekemia. Due to the bleak prognosis of leukemia, HR was forced to start treatment immediately. Starting the chemo for the leukemia meant leaving the prostate cancer untreated until that treatment was finished. Mayo informed us that they were out of options for the prostate cancer, that they were done. WE ARE NOT DONE FIGHTING. We were referred to Envita, an integrated medicine naturopathy facility with hopes of another type of immunotherapy or "out of the box"/natural options. Insurance does not cover blood work or treatment through Envita. The cost for the blood work alone is $7386.00 . We're praying for a miracle.
