My name is Myra, I'm a grandmother to 12 grandchildren. I'm proud as punch of them all.

3 weeks ago my granddaughter 19 competed in the worlds hardest Iron-man Lanzarote in which she came 4th amongst thousands of contestants in her age group, This included a 3.8km sea swim, a 180km bike ride in the mountains, and a 42km run in the sweltering heat. Her time of 13 hours 42 minutes placed her fourth in her age group (18–24), making her the youngest competitor of the day.

I am absolutely flabbergasted!

She has qualified for the World Championships in Kona, Hawaii this October.

Leah has always worked so hard to get to where she is now. She works full time and trains on her days off, she's always training at any given opportunity. She is so inspirational.

The fees and costs for the world championships in Kona is a bit out of her reach and she doesn't have long to find the funds either.

I've created this go fund me in the hope that we can get her to Kona, it's a once in a life time opportunity, and a huge achievement to get this far.

From such a young age, Leah has always been an athlete, running with Blackburn Harriers from the age of 8 her passion has grown beyond our imagination. She's completed triathlons and marathons and even won Iron-man Lanzarote youngsters at the age of 13.

Leah has self funded her way to this huge event working 2 jobs and she works so very hard. I'm certain she will soon become a professional and fulfil her dreams.
