TGB Nation,
The next chapter has arrived!
Our story started in 2005, when Founder Steve purchased the 1985 GMC school bus he rode to grade school and created the Firkin. She treated us to many slow, glorious GFBRAIs and has a cherished place in all of our hearts. When it came time, Firkin moved to Texas for her golden years in the sun. We devoted our blood, sweat, and tears to Bierstube, the 1988 Ford beauty we ride today. Both have given us years filled with memories we will never forget, and a few we will fail to remember... Alas, both buses have significant mechanical and structural hurdles to overcome. It is time for the next chapter of TGB!
We are incredibly excited to introduce your next Team Good Beer chariot! The Team has officially purchased a 2007 Thomas C2. She only has 114k miles on a strong Mercedes-Benz motor, is structurally solid, and will do at least 65 mph with ease! We also decided to go with a wheelchair-accessible model, so loading kegs and coolers will be an entirely different experience moving forward!
As anyone that has ever attended Bus Prep weekend can attest to, turning a school bus into a TGB bus is no small amount of work. The renovation will be significant in both time and money. We want to enlist TGB Nation to help with both!
We will be scheduling work weekends to renovate, and the funds from this drive will directly impact the choices we can make as we work. From bike racks to bathrooms, taps to tapestries, paint to pizzazz--we need your help to make our new friend your new lover. To put a fine point on it, the more moolah we can raise, the more badass this bus will be!
Please consider a donation, and help shape the TGB bus for the next decade or more!
Happy Trails Firkin and Bierstube!
