Team GME Basketball is an affiliate of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and operates as a federally recognized 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. Team GME Basketball strives to teach adolescent boys the fundamentals of life through basketball. This year we are taking our program to another level and taking our boys to compete at the highest level in Las Vegas. These young men will have the opportunity to compete against great competition in front of college coaches and scouts from all over the nation.
As you may know, going to Vegas will be a healthy bill. Our team consist of 10 players, who will all need funds for travel (flight), hotel and van rental accommodations. Being that their parents already pay team fees for them to participate in our regular season schedule, we have started raising funds to hopefully cover the bill for ALL players to attend this amazing opportunity.
We have set a goal of $4,500 that should cover the trip for all the boys and we currently sit $3,000 short of that goal. So as a team we have decided to form this account to reach out to a minimum of 150 of our close friends and family members and ask that each one of you generously donate $20. 150 people sounds like a lot but together we know that we have enough friends and family members that care about these kids enough to help support the cause.
Now of course we would love for you to donate $20 but we would greatly appreciate any monetary amount you are able to give. When donating, please list the players name that you are donating to so we can keep tally and make sure they are able to send you a personal thank you for your donation.
The trip will take place July 18th - 22nd and the plan is to book all flights and hotel arrangements by May 16, 2018, so we are hoping to raise the funds within the next 30 days.
