Team GB Called… Be Part of My Journey!

Hello, I’m Sam!

I’m incredibly excited (and still pinching myself!) to share that I’ve been selected to represent Great Britain in the Women’s European Baseball Championships this August! Honoured to wear the GB jersey and carry the strength of South Asian women and my Bangladeshi heritage with me. Let’s make history. ⚾

A bit of a back story

Just four years ago, I picked up a baseball for the very first time.

It all started with a simple taster session at my university — I had never played before, didn’t know the rules, and had so much to learn. I was completely new to the sport, but something just clicked. I never could have imagined that a few years later, I’d be putting on a Team GB jersey, preparing to represent my country at the Women’s European Baseball Championships. It’s been a whirlwind of growth, determination, and joy — and I’m beyond proud to be where I am today.

The tournament will be held in Hluboká, Czech Republic, and brings together the top women’s baseball teams from across Europe for a week of fierce competition and unforgettable experiences. This is a self-funded trip, which means I’m responsible for covering the full cost of travel, accommodation, food, uniform, training camps, and more. As much as I’m ready to give it my all on the field, I could really use your support off the field to help make this dream a reality.

Breakdown of the costs

£1400 will be going to GB for the cost of the flights, travel, food, uniform etc.

The rest will go towards travelling down for the pre tournament training, baseball equipment and any extra bits needed for my trip!
