Team Garcia: Standing Strong Together
If you live in the Castalia area, you surely know Ron & Nikki Garcia and their two wonderful little girls. They are the type of family who shows up for everyone—whether it’s coaching or cheering on our local sports teams, volunteering with the elementary school PTO, or simply lending a helping hand to neighbors and friends. Now, it’s our turn to show up for them.
In mid-January, Ron was diagnosed with myxoid liposarcoma, a rare cancer that resulted in a tennis ball–sized tumor near his upper leg. Since then, he has endured weeks of radiation, a major surgery in May, and two additional surgeries in June and July. He continues to require home health care, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. Due to his recovery, Ron has been unable to work most of this year, as he still cannot bend his leg following surgery.
Despite the heavy challenges, Nikki and the girls have remained pillars of strength. You can still spot them on the sidelines supporting local kids, many of whom they don’t even personally know. Nikki has continued to volunteer with the elementary PTO while balancing work, caring for their girls, and helping Ron with his recovery—all while leaning on their strong faith.
As you can imagine, the financial strain of medical bills, daily expenses, and lost income has been overwhelming. This is where we, as a community, can step up and give back to the family that has given so much to us.
Every donation—no matter the size—will go directly toward helping Ron, Nikki, and their girls navigate this difficult time until Ron is able to return to work. If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing their story so others may have the opportunity to help.
Together, let’s surround this family with the same love and support they’ve always shown our community.
This fundraiser is lovingly organized by family friend Shelby Koch, who is working closely with the Garcias to ensure all support goes directly to them.
