Onyx Connect Media team essentials

When students of color attend a predominately white institution, it can be hard to find resources that cater to their identity. Onyx Connect members seek out those resources (salons, chefs, make-up artists etc.,) and connect them with students to help navigate their collegiate journey. We also make it our duty to cover issues and events that impact students of color to help foster authentic representation in media at Illinois State. Our long-term goal is to launch Onyx Media teams at all institutions across the country to ensure minority student voices are heard. We're looking to raise funds for equipment and apparel to maintain a professional image as we continue in our work. Funds raised will also support organizational events, content distribution, and travel as we begin to launch at various schools.
