Your awesome friend & family member, Eric, was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) in March of 2020. MDS is a rare form of blood cancer & the treatment for it is chemo & a bone marrow transplant.
Shortly after being diagnosed, Eric started chemo. He was a super star during the first 4 rounds, which he was able to complete in Bend. Now, he is being admitted to the Fred Hutch Bone Marrow Transplant Program in Seattle for "big boy" chemo (that's what Eric calls it) & his bone marrow transplant. He is preparing for the big day, which is Friday, November 6th.
After he has his transplant, he will remain at the hospital for most of November & he will need intensive treatment on & off for the next year. His Dad & Anne plan to be his primary caregivers while he recovers.
As you can imagine, this is going to be a VERY expensive journey for Eric. He already has steep medical bills from March that are starting to roll in. He could really use our love & support right now. Please help alleviate some stress from his life by contributing to this fundraiser.
