Update on Enola 9/8/2025
Surgery went well today. The doctors successfully removed Enola’s eye, and it has been sent to pathology for testing. We will receive results in the coming weeks that will tell us if the cancer was contained or if it spread beyond her eye.
Enola has amazed us with her strength and resilience today. She is resting now, and even in the midst of everything, her sweet spirit continues to shine through.
These last few days have been the hardest thing we’ve ever been through as a family. The emotions have come in waves, and there were moments I truly didn’t know how I would make it through. But we never felt alone. The meals, messages, texts, calls, and especially your prayers have wrapped us in love. Every gesture has reminded us that we are not walking this road by ourselves.
We ask that you continue to keep Enola in your prayers. In a couple of months, she will go under anesthesia again to be fitted for her prosthesis, and at that time her doctors will carefully examine her good eye for any signs of cancer or tumors. Please continue to pray that no other cancer is found in her body.
For now, we are focusing on helping Enola heal and trusting that brighter days are ahead. We feel so incredibly blessed to be surrounded by such faithful and caring friends, family, and communities. From the bottom of our hearts: thank you for lifting Enola up and carrying us with your love and prayers.
With love and gratitude,
The Gould Family

Our sweet Enola was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare childhood eye cancer, this past Wednesday. In just a matter of days, we’ve gone from the shock of hearing those words to preparing for surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital this Monday. Everything has moved so quickly that we’re still catching our breath.
Between medical bills, frequent trips to Boston, meals on the go, and flights for family to be with us during this time, the expenses add up quickly. While we don’t yet know exactly what insurance will cover, we know there will be unexpected costs along the way.
So many of you have reached out asking how to help. This page is one way for friends and family to walk alongside us. If you’re able to contribute financially, every gift lightens the load. If giving isn’t possible, we would be just as grateful for help with meals, childcare, or even gift cards to ease daily life while we focus on Enola’s recovery.
Most of all, your love, prayers, and encouragement mean more than we can ever express. We truly couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for being part of Team Enola and for walking this journey with us.
With love and gratitude,
The Gould Family
