The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.
When Wes and Allie found out they were pregnant with Elliott, they talked about how to pray for her. Undoubtedly, a lot of things came to mind. But they settled on praying for her to be STRONG and JOYFUL. And oh my goodness! STRONG and JOYFUL she is! At just a few weeks shy of her 2nd birthday, her favorite word (not surprisingly) is NO. This is exactly the fighter spirit she needs to get her through this battle. Thank You, Lord, for answered prayers.
On July 11th, after multiple trips to the Urgent Care and Pediatrician, fighting off what was believed to be a virus, Elliott began vomiting blood. She was rushed from the Emergency Room to MD Anderson Cancer Center via ambulance to confirm the initial diagnosis of a form of Leukemia. The following day the medical team confirmed her diagnosis as Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, Type B.
She received her first round of chemotherapy on Friday, July 13th, and will continue intensive inpatient chemotherapy for the next three weeks.
Elliott, along with her Mommy, Daddy, and supporting team, have a long road of treatment ahead. We would like to raise funds for the family to help with the cost incurred for treatments, hospital stay, meals, etc. Elliott's Mommy, Allie, is self-employed and does not have the advantage of paid medical leave. Her Daddy, Wes, is a high School teacher and football coach. The family is scheduled to close and move into a new house this week. We would love to ease as many outside burdens as possible so they can remain focused on taking care of sweet Elliott.
