I’m John Lee Eldridge III, a proud graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, former Division I track and football athlete, and former San Francisco 49ers rookie.
Today, I have the honor of representing Team USA Bobsled as a pilot, competing during my rookie season on the North American Cup circuit. My journey into bobsledding began in 2024 as a brakeman, and through hard work and determination, I earned the opportunity to become a pilot in 2025, leading my own sled and team.
This season has been filled with incredible milestones, including a 3rd place finish at the Push Championships in September and winning my first Pan American Championship medal at my debut international race in Park City over Thanksgiving weekend. I’ve also had the privilege of competing in the 4-man bobsled as a brakeman to support my teammates. Each race is a testament to growth, leadership, and the responsibility of guiding a team at the highest level.
Competing for Team USA is a dream come true, but it comes with significant challenges. Unlike many other sports, Team USA bobsled athletes are self-funded, which means I am responsible for covering all travel, lodging, transportation, training, and competition costs—not just for myself, but often for my entire sled. With three upcoming North American Cup trips on the horizon, your support will go directly toward travel, transportation, lodging, meals, and helping the athletes who compete alongside me.
I am actively pursuing sponsorships and brand partnerships to build long-term support, but until then, every contribution, share, or message of encouragement makes a meaningful difference.
Thank you for supporting Team Eldridge III and being part of this journey. Your belief in me and my team fuels our pursuit of excellence on the world stage. Happy Holidays & Go USA!
