Team El Caminito
Please Help Us Save This Restaurant!
For nearly 30 years, residents of Sunnyvale and surrounding cities have frequented El Caminito’s Restaurant for its great food and charming ambiance.
The Hendryx and Larsen families are
regular and frequent customers at El
Caminito’s. Thus, they have joined in
creating a GoFundMe Campaign to help
support Julian Rios, the owner, during
these times of pandemic restaurant
closures.
The Back Story
“The restaurant is more than a dream come true; it is a dream that keeps on giving as
long as I am able to serve my dear
customers” said Rios, who came to the U.S. 40 years ago from Mazatlán.
His kitchen crew has been with him for 20 years. “We are all like family. But since the
start of the pandemic, it has been a
struggle to keep afloat. I had no choice but to lay off some of the help and cut hours for those whom I kept, Rios stated.
The Costs
In 2020, Julian could not pay the rent in full when the restaurant was closed. In 2021,
both the back rent and monthly rent will
need to be paid. Julian estimates it will take about $60,000 to help him through 2021
