Our dear friend, brother, and community karaoke king, Doug, is facing an unexpected and serious health crisis. He has been in the hospital starting on his fourth week with sudden kidney failure, undergoing regular dialysis treatments, and receiving his third blood transfusion today.

As many of you know, Doug is the heart and soul behind "Karaoke with the King," bringing joy and music to countless people, including residents at local nursing homes. As a small business owner, his ability to earn a living has come to a complete stop. Without his work, he has no income, and the financial stress of day-to-day expenses, combined with mounting medical bills, is weighing heavily on his and his wife Laura's shoulders.

Laura, who is bravely fighting her own battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), is now navigating this difficult situation with the additional stress of Doug's illness. This is an incredibly challenging time for them, and they need our help.

Once he is discharged from the hospital, Doug will be moving to a rehabilitation facility for an extended period to regain his strength. While he is determined to get back on his feet and back to doing what he loves, his focus right now needs to be on his recovery, not on financial worry. He misses his work, his friends in the nursing homes, and, especially, his best friend and dog, Frankie.
