Team Dopamine

A purebred siberian husky team from Norway.

2026 our racing team had femundløpet 450 km as our big race goal of the year. Since late july of 2025 we have been training. 4000 km later, and we are standing on the starting line. Fee off the race, traveling, vet check, accommodation, socks to the dogs, extra food (one dog needs around 10-15000 kcal every day running long distance), snacks, gear in general.. the list is long and so was the prize tag. As we know doing this race for the 3. Time now.

Last two years we placed 16 the first year of trying. And last year at the world championships we took 7. Place. This year we are stronger, faster and wiser. We started off winning the Wilderness race (training race) with good margin.

At the Femundrace, The dogs did fantastic, and we knew we would place good at the race this year. That was until disaster struck and I, the musher, got my hand smashed on the way down to Tynset. My middle finger was ripped almost completely off. I had to scratch at checkpoint Tynset to get medical help. The dogs got taken care off, being in the best shape ever. They ate good, they had the same bodyscore as in the start of the race.. everything was good with them, and they where so confused to why we stopped there. The dogs where in the flow and would've gone all the way.

It feels unfair to not being able to get them over the finishline.. my hand will heal, but that hurt for the race will not heal as easily. This sport is insanely expensive. And without sponsors its almost impossible to do more than one race, if even that. Standing here with a team this good and without the ability to pay for a second opportunity this season just sucks so bad.

Than out of nowhere there is a small business in Trysil (Shoutout to Bever'n!) wanting to sponsor our starting fee, and now, suddenly we are throwing us around to see if this is actually possible ! CAN we go to finnmarksløpet?? The start is already covered. Than its just about the travel and accommodation. Its a long travel and we have estimated around 10.000 NOK in gas. And then its the cabin costs of around 7-8000 NOK. I will make an estimate of the whole trip at the end. If we can only get half, that would help immensely! And the rest well scrape together. So we're trying a "go fund me". Do you want to help sponsor us so we can go to finnmark ?
