For those of you who don’t know Dolph very well, I would like to share a little bit about my brother.

Dolph has been married to Jo Ann for 27 years.  They have 3 children, Devyn, Elle and Dallen.  They live in Nashville, TN.  Dolph loves to play bass guitar, and is an outstanding husband, father, brother and friend.  He loves the Lord, his family, friends,  and he is always there to lend a helping hand.  He loves to make people laugh, and always wears a smile on his face.  He works hard to provide for his family.

On Aug. 14, 2020, Dolph went to see a urologist with symptoms of frequent urination.  This was the only symptom he had.  Thinking it was due to getting older, he was not concerned.  He felt great and thought this was normal for a 54yr old.  However, upon examination, what started as a very pleasant, upbeat office visit, quickly turned to concern on the face of the urologist.  The urologist told Dolph his prostate exam was very abnormal.  Dolph was sent that day to get a CT scan, bloodwork and a biopsy was scheduled.  The normal PSA range for a 54 yr old male is 2.5-3.5.  Dolph’s PSA came back as 55.   The biopsy was done on Aug. 27.  He received the results on Aug.28.  The results showed that Dolph not only had prostate cancer, but that his cancer was a Gleason score of 9, which is a highly aggressive, rapidly growing, high grade cancer.  Dolph was scheduled for further scans to determine whether the cancer had spread beyond the prostate.  The CT/MRI show that the cancer is all throughout the prostate, and has spread outside the prostate.  Fortunately, there is no evidence of cancer in the lymph nodes, bones or organs.  However, once the prostate and surrounding lymph nodes are removed, the lymph nodes will be sent to pathology to determine if cancer is present.

As of right now, Dolph has started hormone therapy, and will be having surgery in December.  Then 3-6 months after surgery, hormone therapy and radiation therapy will begin.  He has traveled to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas as well as Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN.  Since Dolph lives in TN, he will be traveling back and forth from Nashville to Houston for treatment.  The surgeon told Dolph he has a long, tough battle ahead.  Dolph’s response to the surgeon was “I’m a fighter.”  With that said, Dolph will continue to incur medical costs and travel expenses over the next year.  His medical expenses have already reached just over $6,000 after insurance pays their portion.  If you are able to, please consider donating.  Every donation will help! This is going to be a long road for Dolph and his family.  Your prayers are also very much appreciated.  Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.  Jeremiah 17:4

Also, remember to keep Dolph in your prayers and send him plenty of encouragement!
