Hi everyone,

My name is Samantha and I am organizing this fundraiser for my sister, Danielle Van Winkle.

As many of you know, Danielle was recently diagnosed with an invasive form of breast cancer. This news came as a shock to our family, and everything has moved very quickly since then. On December 4th, Danielle underwent a major surgery—a double mastectomy—to remove the cancer.

While the surgery is behind her, the battle is not over. Unfortunately, the cancer has spread to at least one of her lymph nodes. We are currently waiting on biopsy results for the other nodes to determine the next steps, but it is very likely she will need radiation therapy to ensure the cancer is gone for good.

We are launching this GoFundMe to help Danielle navigate the difficult road ahead.

Why We Need Your Help: Fighting cancer is expensive, stressful, and physically exhausting. Danielle is currently recovering from major surgery and is unable to work. We want her focus to be entirely on healing and beating this disease, not on how she will pay for medical bills or keep the lights on.
