It has been a life long dream for Dakota to run the Iditarod Sled Dog Race in Alaska. He started mushing dogs at just 5 years old. The Schlosser’s moved to Alaska in 2012, which helped him to go after his goal. He was able to run the Jr Iditarod when he was 16 & 17 years old. (Finishing 4th both years & Rookie of the Year).  He took a year off from mushing to attend Avtec college & got his degree as a Diesel Mechanic. Over the last few years, he has run the qualifying races, so he could run The Last Great Race of “Iditarod “.
