Team Daisy - supporting bereaved parents in Northamptonshire

In May 2026, I will be running the Isle of Wight Challenge for Team Daisy. The Isle of Wight Challenge is incredibly challenging - hence the name. This involves running walking and crawling all of the 106km. Yes that is right. The event is 106km long on FOOT! If that sounds difficult then let me tell you that there is 2000m+ of elevation.

To support my fundraising for the event, it is time to get back on the football boots and for my brother and I to challenge each other in a football match. Obviously 1v1 would be pretty boring so we have got two teams of bang average footballers to take part in the event!

So, on the 31st August 2025, Strikes Coaching will be taking on Team Daisy at Bugbrooke St Michaels Football Club (1pm kick off). Team Daisy was set up by Wayne and Sarah Chalmers in memory of their daughter Daisy who sadly passed away on the 11th October, 2018. Since then, they have convinced people to do some amazing and crazy events and this continues. They are raising funds for the Daisy Suite at Northampton General Hospital which will be a purpose-built area for bereaved parents to return for follow-up appointments and counselling away from the main maternity department.

Come and support us by making a donation, popping along to the game or providing a prize. Every penny raised will support our fundraising efforts and continue the fantastic legacy of Daisy Chalmers. Thank you for reading.
