Team Cymru Race Against The Sun (Pen-Y-Fan)

Hi!

We are the Under 30’s Welsh Tenpin Bowling Squad - All from Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Very similar to last year, 4 ten-pin bowlers have been given the opportunity to bowl in Ayr, Scotland on July 31st-August 3rd as Welsh representatives, competing in the Euro Nations Challenge against other countries including, Ireland, Scotland, Iceland and Belgium.

All 4 of these Boys have represented Wales / Welsh representatives on either a junior level and/ or Adult beginning from 2008.

Sadly, in September 2023, Rhondda Bowl in Tonyrefail closed down and is now demolished.

All of us started our bowling journeys here and made us the bowlers we are today - Welsh, Team Wales and European representatives who have won numerous medals, trophies, monies and titles between us.

We are climbing Pen-Y-Fan at very early hours of the morning to catch the sun rise at the top☀️ (This is one of the biggest mountains in wales and the sun rises very early in the spring / summer months).

We are trying to raise money in various ways as the tournament is completely self funded.

We are hoping for as much as we can raise in order to cover the cost of entry, shirts etc.

We are taking part in this tournament again as it encourages Welsh younger / league players to enter more serious tournaments to progress into the sport that they love and hopefully continue to do it in years to come.
