My husband Chris was recently diagnosed with stage 4 Spindle Cell Sarcoma. This is a very rare cancer that is difficult to treat. Chris is being treated by specialists at the University of Iowa hospital in Iowa City, about 2 hours from our home. The cancer is in his bones in multiple locations. One of the tumors is on his spine and affecting his lower extremities. This makes it difficult to walk. He will spend time in a rehab facility prior to starting chemo.

This diagnosis has caught us completely by surprise. Anyone who knows us knows that we're a very active family. We spend a lot of time together in support of our children's activities especially travel softball. To go from supporting our daughter's team every weekend to being bedridden in a hospital bed is something we can barely comprehend. We're raising funds to support us during this difficult time.
