Team Complexly Crazy qualified for GLOBALS! Please help us get there!
Our team has been hard at work for over 6 months tackling an engineering challenge for a competition called Destination Imagination. We built a slingshot/catapult – like device that launches a bean bag in two different configurations. On competition day, we demonstrate our design in a creative skit about getting stuck in a snow globe! Our story has it all – there is humor, there is snowball launching, there is juggling, there is a terrifying Yeti, there is disaster and repair, there is grit and perseverance, and finally (spoiler!) – a swift escape!
All teams are judged based on technical design and innovation of their device, launch distance and accuracy, and creativity of their story.
As a team of 7 kids from Adkins Elementary in Lantana, Texas, we are excited to announce that we took 1st place in our regional tournament, moving on to win 2nd place in the state of Texas! We also won the Davinci Award for exceptional creativity in our story line, and we scored the highest of all the teams in Texas in our Instant Challenge!
We have earned the opportunity to compete at Global Finals — an international competition where we will be up against the best teams from around the world. Our registration fee alone is $5,500 and does not include our travel expenses to Kansas City, Missouri. We hope you will consider supporting our efforts to compete in this incredible event.
Thank you!
