Hello Friends!
Let me start by saying that once my sister, Christine McGuff Neuhardt, finds out that I did this, she is probably going to be really mad at me! But that's okay. I can "take one for the team" because she needs our help right now and would never ask for it! As most of you know, my sister is one who never, ever asks anyone for anything but is always, and I mean ALWAYS there for everyone else. Since the beginning of the year she has experienced a major job change followed by a life altering cancer diagnosis. Both of these things would bring a normal person to their knees, but my sister has faced both with strength and dignity. Her response to each situation continues to be "I'm okay"... Unfortunately, she is unable to work at this time due to her health issues and needs to focus on her recovery. She looks forward to returning to her job in the future once her health improves, but for now the focus is on getting well. On April 16th, Chris had to have her kidney removed and she is currently under the care of an amazing team of professionals at the Ohio State University - James Cancer Hospital. She will begin her cancer treatments on June 3rd. Since this journey began three months ago, she has never complained or ever asked "why me?" and has faced everything head on with courage, pride, and strength. My wish in starting this fund is to help relieve some of her stress so that she can focus solely on fighting this terrible disease and not worry about missing work, hospital bills, insurance payments, prescription costs and all of the other day to day expenses associated with a life altering illness. I want her to know that we are always here for her and even on her worst days, that we are here and that she will never, ever fight this battle alone! Thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart for all of the love, support and kindness shown to my sister every single day! You all are appreciated more than you will ever know! I would also like to give a very special thank you to Mary Ellen Beekman for her love and guidance in getting this fundraiser underway and being so helpful and supportive.
