Celandine Wood Animal Rescue are doing amazing work every day. They need to continue the great work and with your help they can. We wish to raise funds to care and support for all the animals in their care and those for the future.
As with all rescues they have been exceptionally busy with dogs, cats, rabbits and wildlife. They recently cared for and released an owl back into the wild.
They are inundated with calls daily from people asking for help, and as with all rescues at the moment their resources are stretched to the limit with 'COVID pups ' living costs and bully breeds needing help. It's the biggest crisis to hit animal welfare and rescues for years.
We are undertaking the Yorkshire Three Peaks. All the team have a story to tell as to why they are completing this challenge. I believe its important to challenge yourself and if that challenge can make a difference it’s a step forward. I have completed a number of challenges over the years, and I don’t know what scares me most the challenge itself or the fundraising! but they do support each other equally.
I have unfinished business with the Three Peaks as I attempted this challenge a couple of years ago and sadly on getting to the second peak I had to withdraw, as I get Plantar Fasciitis which unfortunately flared up a couple of week before. Very frustrating so going for take two!
Myself and my dog are going on regular training walks. My four legged friend certainly clocks up more miles than me on these walks, and walks a lot faster. She has pulled me up many hills and down them.
I’m also very excited to be doing the challenge with friends and my niece and nephew Hayley and Ben Webb. So looking forward to starting the challenge with them. Though I am under no illusions that I will finish with them as I am not the fittest and I’m certainly not the fastest. We will all find our own pace and tackle the challenge in our own unique way.
Within our team completing the challenge we have more than 30 dog/cats etc. owners and lovers of these intelligent, cheeky and loyal companions.
Often dogs, cats and other animals are there through no fault of their own. They can find themselves homeless for a variety of reasons when all they want is that forever home.
The team and volunteers work tirelessly to help the dogs and cats in their care to secure them a better future. All animals deserve a home where they can be loved and cared for in an environment in which they can thrive and in return our canine companions give unconditional love and loyalty. We may only have our dogs for a part of our life, but we must remember that we are its whole life.
If our challenge can make a difference however small we will all be very happy. None of the money you contribute will be used to fund the challenges.
A little can go a long way and anything that you can give will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
