Help Cathi Beat Brain Cancer

Donation protected
Cathi is a wonderful woman with a fun, loving, easy-going personality. She has served in the United States Air Force and currently teaches Native American history at a local university while continuing to follow her passion advocating for Native American rights through the Army Corps. She has three biological children and played a vital role as the mother figure for her three eldest boys. She has seven grandchildren who always brighten her day.

Recently, Cathi has had some unexplained symptoms that were worsening over the past month or so. Her day-to-day routine became challenging as she was losing her train of thought, memory and energy to do simple tasks. She was sleeping more than usual and having frequent falls. When her vision started to be affected, she went to the emergency room and was informed she had two fairly large masses in her brain.

Cathi has been in the hospital for close to a week now, undergoing multiple tests in search of a diagnosis and a treatment plan. Unfortunately, the location of the tumors make it unsafe for a biopsy to be taken to get final confirmation of what the tumors are.

After many specialist came together, there was a consensus the tumors seem consistent with Glioma [a form of brain cancer that is on the optic area of the brain which effects the nervous system]. A treatment plan will hopefully be solidified shortly, but the family was advised that radiation therapy and other cancer treatments are to be expected to start shortly.

Cathi has since been surrounded by love and support, which she and the family are grateful for. The hope for this GoFundMe is to provide assistance for medical bills, food, transportation to and from doctor appointments, and help support her youngest son who still lives with her during this long path of uncertainty.

The family will also try to help keep everyone updated through this site. All prayers, well wishes, good vibes are appreciated!
