As many of you know, my husband Antonio "Tony" Carrillo has had numerous health problems this year. He is a diabetic and he has been on medical leave since January 2020. He was diagnosed with severe kidney damage and began dialysis 2 months ago. He has been approved to receive a Kidney transplant in San Antonio, when one becomes available.
A couple of weeks ago, he had a set back and came close to having a stroke. He lost vision in his right eye and his left eye became blurry as well. Both of his eyes began bleeding due to his diabetes and high blood pressure. His doctors believe they might be able to restore his vision by having surgery on his eye. However, due to the Covid pandemic, the surgery has been postponed until the hospital begins performing surgeries. I am hoping to raise enough money to have available for him once surgeries are allowed to be performed.
Tony was let go from his job as an emergency dispatcher/correctional officer with the Reeves County Sheriffs Office, due to him exhausting all his medical leave. He cannot return to work due to his vision loss. With his lay off, he lost his medical insurance. Although he has coverage thru my work insurance, it is not enough to cover all of the costs involved.
He has applied for disability benefits, but as you might have guessed, the process is very long and takes a lot of time to approve.
I have started this fundraiser in hopes of raising money to help cover his medical costs. Our family income is now dependent on me and my job. All money raised will go specifically to pay for all of his medical expenses.
Thank you all very much for all of your love and support. I know these a hard times for all of us. I ask that you please keep Tony in your prayers, that God may heal him soon, restore his vision, and receive a kidney transplant. We know with God all things are possible, and we have all of our faith in him.
