This is Caleb. He is 10. And got diagnosed with cancer. No child you wish this on!! But we are here to try to help the family and raise some money to help this family out in need! Please help a family who has given so much to so many people. As their 10 year-old son Caleb Camping courageously faces chemotherapy to battle Hodgkins Lymphoma. Dustin and Heather will be faced with significant medical bills. This fund will help offset those bills, and give Dustin and Heather a little relief so that they can totally focus on Caleb. Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified. For the Lord your God goes with you wherever you go. We firmly place our feet between God’s goodness and control! Here is a bit of his journey so far from the family:From fear, to shock, to disbelief, to dispair and brokenness, we rest today in the confidence we have that we gear up for battle this week and in the weeks to come with our Great Healer leading the way and mighty warriors standing with us. Would you join us?Caleb went in for a second lymph node biopsy surgery last Friday at Children’s Hospital after mounting symptoms convinced doctors it was time again. Our surgeon called us Tuesday and diagnosed Caleb with Hodgkins Lymphoma, a cancer that starts in the lymph nodes. We spent all day Thursday at Children’s Hospital meeting with our oncologist, learning about what each staging diagnosis could mean, and doing additional PET and CT scans for exact staging and diagnosis. We ended Thursday with a call from our oncologist diagnosing Caleb with stage 2 lymphocyte predominant lymphoma which basically means that cancer was found in his lymph nodes, armpits and chest but it had not spread further, keeping him at stage 2 which was cause for great relief. Oncology called again Friday giving us an initial picture of what surgery and treatment will entail in the weeks and months to come:Caleb goes back down to Children’s Hospital for surgery Tuesday afternoon to have a port put in for chemotherapy. After surgery they will take him to the oncology floor to begin chemotherapy treatments slowly Tuesday and into Wednesday, monitoring how his body responds. If his body responds well to the first round of chemotherapy, we will get to go home Wednesday evening. As expected, side effects will be nausea/vomiting, hair loss and exhaustion. He will have to have his blood checked weekly to make sure counts are where they need to be before receiving more chemotherapy. If counts get too low they will give him a blood transfusion before moving on.Through it all, Caleb’s bottom line question to doctors has been, “So after that’s done can I go to practice\play in my game then?” His buddies and his sports teams provide such a strength and security for him and it has been an incredible blessing watching teams rally around him.As a parent I’m sure I do not need to share where Dustin and I have been emotionally the last couple of weeks. Today, though, as we gear up to battle cancer, here is what we know...- Jesus has conquered death and though Caleb will beat this cancer, whether in life or death, death truly has lost its sting because of Christ’s victory on the cross. Our hope in Christ and eternity with Him provide security and joy as we step out into the front lines of battle on behalf of our son.- We do not battle alone. We have felt the power of so many community members’ prayers surrounding us over the last week and I can tell you that these prayers on behalf of Caleb have given us all a strength and a hope that is not only noticeable but game changing. Thank you❤️ We thank God every day for the help, the love, and support of this incredible community, and want to reach out to ask if you will join us in prayer as we rally the troops to start battling this disease:- Pray for surgery on Tuesday and the surgeons hands, that all would go as planned.- Not sure which one yet but one of the chemo meds has the potential to weaken heart muscles and potentially cause him to have weak heart muscles into adulthood. I love this opportunity to battle against this one in prayer because Caleb’s actual name means to wholeheartedly follow God. We pray over C that his heart both physically and spiritually would be bold and triumphant and strong through all of this well into his adult years. Will you pray with us?- Will you pray that Caleb’s body is resilient and bold as these medicines help him fight this cancer. Pray that his blood count stays high through the treatments and that his body feels peace taking the steroids and other medicines that can otherwise make kids feel uptight and anxious not to mention exhausted and nauseous/sick. Pray that we would see the God of peace, strength and healing move in Caleb‘s body as he walks this path.- Pray that Dustin and Caleb and I would have supernatural strength to stay strong, courageous, positive, and full of joy in the long hours to come at Children’s Hospital. Pray that we would find ways to be a blessing to other people while we are there, and that the hours would be filled with comfort, peace and unity. - Pray that we all would have the mental strength to live in the moment. With a pending move in the weeks ahead I feel very overwhelmed thinking about chemotherapy and all that it will entail plus holding down a normal routine for the rest of our family and our other three children plus keeping the house ready for showings plus wrapping my head around moving potentially in a few weeks. Pray for guidance for us and pray that Dustin and I would be able to stay in the moment this week and deal with future details after we have made it through this first week.- Pray for our other three children and join me in thanking God for the stability and normalcy that my mom is able to provide for them during this time as she is already a part of their normal every day week routine so it is very seamless when we are gone for them to be with her doing school. THANK YOU Mom❤️- Last but not least. Pray for victory! Pray that what was meant for evil and defeat, will end in victory and bring God massive amounts of glory along the way.In his goodness, God created us with endless amounts of power to move mountains for His glory through prayer. We have lived it. We believe it. And we ask you to join us in the journey. One last note of housekeeping, we are open to questions and conversations but for right now unless we initiate, would you send your thoughts our way via text or messenger (and understand if we are not able to respond.) It is of the highest importance to us that we work hard to stay strong and create normalcy for our four children during this time. We have to keep cell phone usage to a minimum and need to make sure that the conversations we have in public are full of strength and hope and uplifting interactions. Honestly for their benefit but also for ours. Sending prayers and scripture, Truth and God’s promises our way help us more than we could say.As I close my eyes and visualize stepping onto the front lines of battle this week with all of you by our side, I see Jesus out in front leading the battle cry for life and victory for God’s glory #gametime #teamc
