I’m writing this on behalf of an incredibly strong and loving family who would never ask for help themselves — but right now, they truly need it.

Over the past 6 months, they have been doing everything possible to support Ben through his cancer journey without any financial assistance. They’ve leaned on their own strength, their business, and their resilience to get through each day. But as Ben’s prognosis has worsened in recent months, both parents have had to step away from work almost entirely to be by his side.

They’ve been fortunate to have support keeping their business running, but that comes at a cost — paying others to step in while also losing their own ability to contribute.

They’ve also made a conscious decision to use their savings for something just as important as treatment — time. Time as a family. Time on the beach in Mexico. Time for Ben and his siblings to just be kids together, creating memories that will last forever.

Now they are facing the next step in this fight.

They are pursuing clinical trials in the United States that could give Ben a chance, but these come with overwhelming upfront costs — deposits of $100,000 USD or more, plus travel, accommodations, and the reality of relocating their family for care. They have mentioned remortgaging the house and cashing pension investments to do this, but I'm hopeful they can save those steps as a last resort.

At the same time, they are focused on something deeply meaningful: making sure Ben’s life is filled with as many joyful experiences as possible while he feels well enough to enjoy them.

Ben is working on his own “wish it / do it” list. One of his dreams? To go to a Blue Jays game and get his jersey signed by “Vlady Daddy.” as Ben calls him.

This family is fighting with everything they have for Ben. And alongside that fight, they are doing everything they can to give him a lifetime of love, joy, and unforgettable moments.
