Team BC U16 boys soccer NAIG

Hello,

We are a group of young, First Nations athletes and coaches preparing to compete at the 2023 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG, https://naig2023.com) in Halifax, Nova Scotia from July 15-23, 2023 in the sport of soccer. We have contacted you in the hopes of a donation for our Wine night June 9th, or Spirits night, June 10th, or just a monetary donation to help us meet our goal.

Following an extensive province-wide selection process, the top athletes were chosen to represent not only British Columbia, but also their respective Indigenous community, in this international multi-sport event that highlights the cultural, spiritual and athletic prowess of Indigenous athletes from across North America.Provincial Sport Committees, oversees and coordinates the Team BC program. Team BC will be comprised of 535 Indigenous athletes and coaches competing in 13 different sports. We are fundraising for one particular team of Under 16-year-old male soccer players.

While the Team BC program is supported by the Province of BC, there is still a financial burden to the athlete to participate at NAIG. Participation includes team fee, training, travel and accommodation expenses in preparation for the games. As these expenses are the responsibility of the athlete and their family; any financial or in-kind assistance provided by community members, organizations or local businesses is very much welcomed. Our team goal is to raise $10,000 in a very short period of time. We will be hosting the Wine night and Spirit night at the Burnaby FC Clubhouse located at 6159 Curtis St, Burnaby, BC V5B 4X7. We are looking to have 70 people attend each night.
