Hello, GoFundMe community!
This is Team Azeem and we represent the many friends and coworkers of Azeem Wasi, whose beloved father Ahmed Wasi passed on Sunday, May 6th, 2018 from health complications. Anyone working beside Azeem at Stanford Starbucks knows him as a light and leader -- a star barista beaming with joy and laughter in the daytime, a tireless worker both taking college classes and supporting his family in the nighttime. Azeem has been a rock for so many of us throughout the years, which is why we want to support him and the entire Wasi family in this time of great need and unimaginable loss.
We are organizing Team Azeem independently of the Wasi family and the Bay Area’s Muslim Community Association (MCA) and our GoFundMe goal is based primarily on our research of Santa Clara burial expenses (through MCA) and medical bills. We hope that this GoFundMe will help soften the financial burden that accompanies such great loss. Any and all support is welcome -- every dollar and every word.
