Anna White is asking for our help.
After years of quietly coping with debilitating pain in her feet, Anna has been diagnosed with plantar fibromatosis, a benign but aggressive disorder which has caused multiple tumors in both her feet. She had surgery to remove the initial tumor six years ago, however, at this point the tumors are inoperable due to their pervasive nature. Anna has undergone physical therapy, multiple medication trials, injections, and most recently cryotherapy in Boston with the goal of easing her pain and slowing the tumors’ growth. Unfortunately, the tumors continue to grow and the resulting pain of being on her feet has required Anna to reduce her nursing schedule at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.
While difficult to open up about, over the past 2 years Anna’s medical expenses have exceeded her insurance coverage by approximately $30K. Anna has had to put most of this on her credit cards, which continue to carry a high balance. Anna’s school loans are approximately $50K. The combination of unrelenting pain, reduced work hours and financial stress is unsustainable. As Anna’s mother, aunt, and uncle, we are stepping up to help her. To meet or exceed our goal of raising $40K by Christmas time would provide immediate relief and resounding support. Anna has committed to use whatever funds we raise to eliminate her credit card debt, to pay down her school loans, and to stay current with medical expenses not covered by insurance.
We invite you to join us in standing with Anna. We’ve set up a Go Fund Me and Facebook page to make it easy.
Through our love, our prayers, and our generous financial support we’re letting Anna know that we ‘have her back.’
Thank you dearest friends and family,
Karen, Jennie, and David
