Hello everyone- I am Jimmie’s wife , Christian- and I want to thank everyone for being here in support and for throwing this event for Jimmie.

I thought I would give everyone a time line of things and what we are expecting in the next few days. ️

April 23rd - Jimmie went to Jerseyville hospital in pain they established he had appendicitis, wanted to wait till morning (no surgeon on call) to remove appendix, in the mean time his appendix perforated.

April 24th - Jimmie had his appendix removed due to the appendicitis and perforation. There was a lot of mucus surrounding his appendix. They sent his appendix out for a pathology report. It came back as cancerous. (Which means all those cancer cells inside his appendix spread threw out his abdominal cavitity ) He has a form of appendix cancer- also known as PMP- a few weeks later). This is a rare cancer only 2 out of 1 million per year. So began our many trips, to many different doctors and hospitals trying to find a doctor that’s familiar with his cancer and willing to treat him. FINALLY - we came across his Dr at SLU Hospital in STL and she is amazing- the answer to our prayers! She has been very caring and supportive to us- laying out expectations, and answering questions.

Jimmie has had 2 surgeries and 1 procedure since his diagnosis. However, Tuesday (Aug 22nd, a day before his 34th birthday) Jimmie will be taken in for his major and hopefully final surgery. This is one of the hardest surgeries to go through. He will be having a Hipec surgery with chemo bath. During this surgery they will be going in looking at every organ inside Jimmie’s abdomen to remove any signs of cancer, all tumors, and remove all mucin. After removing everything they will be preforming a chemo bath to treat his abdomen and to try and kill any cancer cells floating around due to the perforation spreading in hopes they won’t attach and attack further down the road.

This surgery is a minimum of 6 hours can last up to 16 hours. Doctors estimate around 10 hour surgery as long as all goes well! After all is said and done we will be staying in the hospital 7 days (minimum) to monitor & allow proper healing and he will have multiple drainage tubes during this time. Estimated time of recovery is 4-6 months! (Even though jimmie says he’ll be back on the field and work at 6 weeks gotta love a stubborn man ) Thank God for his strength and resilience- during this time I have struggled to find mine. We will continue to follow up with the doctor after the surgery to continue to monitor and test to watch with imaging in hopes he stays in remission and we can put all this behind us

We appreciate everyone and everything during this time! The support and out reach has been nothing short of amazing! I will do my best to update everyone on things come Tuesday. I hope this this little summary helps everyone to understand things easier!

THANK YOU!! WE LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOU ALL MORE THAN WE COULD EVER EXPLAIN
