June 3, 2019 changed our lives forever. Cancer is a word you never want to hear and when you are told that you are a young man with a cancer that is "typically" only found in older generations, you question why you are being faced with this when your whole life still seems ahead of you.
Adam is determined to beat this and has engaged doctors at Hopkins and Anne Arundel Medical Center to help him find a path to remission. With the help of his family and friends, Ashley, Mia and Adam want the life they have dreamed about.
Adam has had on-going support for his chemo, radiation and hospital visits. Having already endured 3 week-long chemo sessions, Adam is embarking on radiation that we are hopeful will relieve some of the back pain and give him back some mobility.
Adam used his vacation to help minimize the financial impact, however he has now applied for long-term disability as working has become impossible over the last several months. The financial strains associated with numerous hospital visits, doctor appointments and reduced income in the household have started to impact daily living and bill management for the family. The lengthy process to secure any long-term disability or Social Security could take months, so the family is seeking support to manage through the increased expenses.
Ashley has been at every appointment with Adam as well as his hospital stays since the day of initial diagnosis in June of last year. As a team, Ashley, Mia and Adam are determined to fight this to remission, working toward a new program at NIH which potentially will introduce a more advanced protocol. While Adam has a strong support system with his family and friends, the financial stresses are compiling, so the family asks that you consider helping in any way possible. They are determined to fight back and beat cancer, they just need a little financial help along the way. If you can't donate financially perhaps just consider dropping in with a dinner and a few words of encouragement!
Multiple Myeloma cancer is an aggressive cancer, but the new drugs and treatments give this family hope. With everyone's love, support and encouragement Adam is determined to beat this!
