Support Bananas Aren’t Wireless (21200) – Discovery Charter School Robotics

We’re Bananas Aren’t Wireless, a VEX IQ robotics team from Discovery Charter School in Durham, NC. Our middle school team designs, builds, and programs a competition robot for this year’s game, Mix and Match. Throughout the season, we’re constantly improving and innovating.

At our first tournament, the team won the Design Award and earned an invitation to compete at the CREATE U.S. Open Tournament in Council Bluffs, Iowa, this March. Our primary fundraising goal is to make this trip possible so we can compete against some of the best teams in the world.

This season, we’re also working toward qualifying for the North Carolina State Championship—and hopefully, the World Championship. To get there, we’re raising funds to cover:

Equipment costs: parts, sensors, and replacement components as we refine our design

Tournament fees: entry for local and state events

Travel expenses: transportation and lodging for competitions

Our goal is $10,000. Every dollar helps our students gain hands-on experience in engineering, coding, and teamwork—skills that will last long after the season ends.
