TEAL Up For Kembra

In August 2016, my daughter received an unexpected and alarming diagnosis.

OVARIAN CANCER.

Kembra Jenae was in peak physical condition at the time, working in a managerial role at Crossgates Family Fitness,

and also as a top notch, well respected and sought after personal trainer.

Since that time she has been through 4 major abdominal surgeries and completed multiple rounds of 4 different chemo therapy prescriptions. It seems that with each step of progress she experienced, shortly thereafter there were 2 steps of regression. Throughout these five years of treatment Kembra has continued working and training her clients, often taking her lunch break to go get her chemo treatments and returning to the gym to finish her work for the day. She was determined to not only recuperate, recover and be a stronger person for herself and her family, but she wanted to set an example for others; to look within themselves and find the fight, determination and resolve to overcome whatever obstacles come their way. That has remained constant throughout.

In July 2021 she has experienced yet another set back; The chemo has again stopped controlling the cancer growth. Kembra will start a new chemo regimen in a few weeks. Her determination to continue this fight is unwavering.

For the first time in this 5 year journey Kembra is physically unable to continue to work.
