Teagan and Lainey’s Fight To Come Home

Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Tina Glinski and I am Teagan and Lainey’s grandma. I am creating this on behalf of Tiffany (my youngest daughter) and Lucas.

For starters, thank you to everyone who has reached out, sent prayers, and checked in on the new parents and their girls. It has been a long road already and there is still a lot of progress to be made before these girls can come home to be with Tiffany and Lucas.

If you know either of them, you know that this journey from pregnancy to delivery has been anything but easy. Since she was 9 weeks pregnant, the doctors told them they were having twins, but that they were considered very high risk due to their development and placenta - they are called Monochorionic Diamniotic (MCDA) Twins. Being that they shared 1 placenta, there were many risks. Tiffany began seeing a high risk doctor every single week beginning at 15 weeks up until her final week pregnant.

The twins original due date was April 18th, but on February 15th, they had other plans. Tiffany and Lucas went into the hospital on February 9th which is when they found out she was in preterm labor and had been for a few days at that point. The doctors rushed to give her steroids and medicine to help kickstart the development of the babies in case they were to deliver at 30 weeks. Unfortunately for Tiffany, but good for the babies, they also were able to slow her labor until Saturday February 15th when Lainey decided to make her entrance at 4:03 p.m. and was 3 lb 8 oz. As soon as Lainey made her entrance, Teagan flipped and became breech. The doctors tried to flip her, but ultimately had to do an emergency C-section to get her out. Teagan officially made her arrival at 4:30 p.m. and was 3 lb 7 oz. Tiffany was finally able to meet and touch her babies around 7:00 p.m. that night through the glass of their NICU beds.

The rollercoaster of pain and emotions that entire week of labor and delivery brought for Tiffany is something no one could’ve imagined going through. During that week and in the weeks that followed, both Tiffany and Lucas had to take time away from work much sooner than planned, recovery of both deliveries has been difficult, and going home without their babies was something they never anticipated.

Unfortunately, they are both back to work to try to make sure they have time with them when the girls finally do come home. Tiffany has returned to work within 2 weeks of a major surgery and has been nonstop on the go between going to the hospital, work, back to the hospital, work… Lucas has been working long hours trying to take care of the girls and Tiff. They have been doing the most and the best they can while navigating this new, emotional time.

There have been many ups and downs this past month in the NICU - they’ve had many tests ran and work done, they’ve hit milestones, and of course there’s been scary moments of the unknown or negative results.

Today, the girls are doing okay.
Lainey is 5 lb 4 oz, still on oxygen support, and on a feeding tube that provides her with momma’s milk.
Teagan is 4 lb 13 oz, fed through a feeding tube of momma’s milk, and having her heart monitored because it has shown some abnormalities.
They love the sound of their mom and dad’s voices, love to be snuggled next to eachother, and are overall making progress. It’s the doctors hopes to soon teach them how to completely breath and eat on their own. Tiffany and Lucas are hoping they can bring their babies home next month, but no one knows for sure when the time will be.

All donations will go to their medical bills/NICU stay. Any donation for them right now will go a long way and is deeply appreciated. If you are not able to donate, but still want to see the parents or show support, I would suggest to consider helping them in different ways such as making them a meal to make their time better spent with their kids and to relieve some stress.
