Hello, my name is Teacoa Rushton. I am an artist and musician from Fort Worth, Texas.
I am reaching out to you with humility and hope. I have been diagnosed with Diabetic Retinopathy, a serious complication of diabetes that affects the eyes. Without treatment, diabetic retinopathy can cause permanent vision loss or even blindness.
For me, this has become a daily struggle. My vision has been deteriorating, making everyday tasks more difficult and threatening my independence and quality of life. I am unable to create, and my ability to work has become a challenge.
My doctors have recommended urgent treatment, which includes:
- Cataract surgery
- Ongoing eye injections
- Laser eye treatment
- Retina Detachment Surgery
- Specialized eye therapy
These procedures are essential to save my vision and slow down the progression of this disease. Unfortunately, the cost of this care is far beyond what I can afford on my own. That’s why I am asking for your help to raise $15,000 to cover the expenses of my treatment and therapy.

What is Diabetic Retinopathy?
Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes that damages the blood vessels in the retina, the part of the eye that senses light. Over time, high blood sugar levels can weaken or block these vessels, causing them to leak or grow abnormally. This can lead to:
- Blurred or cloudy vision
- Dark spots or floaters
- Difficulty seeing at night
- Vision loss if untreated
While it is one of the leading causes of blindness, with timely treatment, vision loss can often be slowed or prevented. That is why your support is so critical right now.

How You Can Help
I am asking for your kindness and generosity to help me reach my goal of $15,000. Every donation, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to restoring my sight and protecting my future.
If you are unable to give financially, simply sharing this campaign with others means the world to me.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you are able to offer. Your generosity gives me hope that I can move forward with healing and preserve the gift of sight.
With love and gratitude,
Teacoa Rushton
