My children and I are raising money for the Charleston Animal Society. This organization does the quiet, unglamorous work: sheltering the forgotten, mending what’s been hurt, choosing compassion even when it’s hard or expensive or unseen. In a world that feels increasingly sharp, supporting something this tender matters to us. This is also how we’re beginning to teach our young children what activism looks like.
