Help Sherrie fight Severe RA & Medical Costs

We have updates at the bottom of this page. Thank you All again!

Hi! My name is Scott Wallace, husband to Sherrie Wallace, The Love Of My Life! We are blessed with four children and 3 grandbabies so far!

Sherrie was diagnosed with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis a few years ago. Then, she developed Pyoderma Gangrenosum, an inflammatory skin condition that causes swollen, open wounds on her legs, so she has no skin on her calves and deep, open wounds that are very painful! These are caused by a rare complication of RA. Having no skin, causes her to get cellulitis several times a year, which turns into Sepsis, a blood infection landing her in the ICU many times a year. After her extreme health problems, DRS decided to implant a PowerPort needle beside her heart in her chest permanently so she can have infusions of strong Biologic Medicine, administer Strong Antibiotics at home when needed and for nurses, med staff to access her port immediately in emergencies. The RA also caused Sleep Apnea, which she needed a CPAP/BIPAP machine, her body was retaining too much Carbon Dioxide. She was using a machine the dr gave her, but it was not strong enough and she went into Congestive Heart Failure on the right side of her heart. The Drs finally got her a Trilogy machine, an at home non-intrusive ventilator and she now uses oxygen daily. Our insurance doesn't cover all of her expenses, medicines, supplies to wrap her deep wounds, and hospital bills.

We heard about GoFundMe and wanted to let our community and world know what can happen medically. Sherrie was working full time, a mother, wife and took care of her ailing mother, I called her The Energizer Bunny. Then, what seemed like the next day, she came down so sick and hasn't been able to really get well before she gets hit with another disease or extreme medical issue. You just never know what is going to happen in life, so tell the ones you love that You love them everyday! Remember, we are not promised a tomorrow, so treat each day as it could be your last.

If you can help our family with the costs of Sherrie's Medical needs, we greatly appreciate you, Thank You and our words cannot express our gratitude. We love everyone, wish you good health and peace to each person! We hope God blesses you and your loved ones!

We want to Thank Everyone who has given to This cause. We have had donations here and some given to us in person so we lowered our goal amount to reflect that. In total, we have received $4,090 in donations! We want to thank you all for caring and helping, Thank you may be words, but they are meant from our hearts! With the donations, we have bought Sherrie's ABD pads, Gauze Rolls, Silicone Tape, Non Adherent Pads so it won't stick to her open wounds on her legs, Silicone Foam Dressing. We also were able to pay some medical bills with this amount given. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness!

Tomorrow Sherrie has a Dr appointment at a new Sleep Apnea Dr. He will help evaluate her lungs and complete respiratory using this Vocsn or Trilogy machine. Next week she has an Appointment with her Infectious Disease Specialist and Congestive Heart Failure Clinic. The Biopsy of her deep leg wounds was rearranged for an upcoming week.

This last Christmas Eve 2023, we were getting ready to go to a big Christmas get together. All the family was going to be there, Sherrie woke at 5:15am and I helped her into the shower. She sat on her bath chair taking her bath. I started packing the mom mobile, van with the gifts for others, I went back to check on Sherrie and she had passed out on her bath chair. I could not get her awake, nor out of the tub. I called 911, ambulance and firemen came. They got her out of the tub and to the hospital where she stayed in Critical ICU for 5 days, then moved to the 5th floor on HH main. She stayed in the hospital for almost 1 Month. She has not been able to move her right foot toes or control her right leg a lot since Christmas Eve. They are calling it Foot Drop, which we had never heard of. She now has to see a Neurologist and the drs in the hospital said Sherrie has 2 compression fractures in her spine, so nerves may be pinched to cause the Foot Drop. We are hoping the drs can help because she has barely been able to use her right leg, which makes it very hard for her to walk even with her walker and rollator. We will keep you posted.

On a side note, we are still staying as positive as we can. We stay in prayer and truly know, God's in control and He does everything in His time. Thank you so much again. We love you all! Blessings to you also!
