Teacher Needs Your Help: Brain Tumor Battle
Donation protected
My dream growing up was to become a teacher..to inspire and instill the love for reading, literature and books, especially 17th century British literature. Beowulf, Camelot, and Sir Gawin, I had the honor of being impacted by two amazing reading teachers that paved my path to live my dream. I never thought that my dream would be shattered by something out of a nightmare, out of my control. I thought long and hard about sharing this, it’s so personal, intimate to me, of who I am, and who I will become once all is done by my team of neurosurgeons. On December 26th, a day after Christmas, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, I have been admitted into the hospital twice within a three week span due to the complications and side effects of the tumor. Due to its location, (cerebellum) it is inoperable, and must be cared for under Gamaknife radiation treatment.
This was not part of my dream of making a difference in kids lives, inspiring to love books and literature, knights, and over coming evil, but this is my current reality. Not having the ability to work because of the severe, bed rendering side affects, this bump in my road, has only placed a higher stress to myself and my journey towards a possible recovery. My neurosurgeon felt that a “stress-free” environment would help the healing process, I am currently out on FMLA in hopes of gaining the much needed healing, I have used up my personal sick leave on sick leave days, unfortunately I have no resources coming in to help assist me in paying my different neurosurgery Dr medical bills, medications, hospital stays, radiation treatments, doctor office visits, cranial angiography, CT scans, MRI copayments.
I’m humbly asking for any help you feel in your heart to help with along with prayers, good vibes, air hugs, you’d like to share with me. Thank you to everyone who’s kept an eye on me, for text messages, and prayers. God bless you.
