My name is Chico Mendez. I’m a middle school teacher—so yes, I drink too much coffee, answer to “Mr. Mendez” more than my own first name, and somehow spend more of my savings on classroom supplies than on myself. Starting this new school year has been exciting, but also a little overwhelming financially.
I recently made the move to a new school district where I’ll be teaching this year—a new chapter I’m truly excited for. Unfortunately, the timing has left me in a tough spot financially. My last paycheck from my previous district came in mid-July, and I won’t receive my first paycheck from my new district until September 5th.
That gap has left me struggling to keep up with bills and everyday expenses. I’ve always prided myself on taking care of myself and working hard, but right now I could really use a little help to stay afloat until my first check arrives.
Anything you’re able to give—no matter how small—will go directly toward covering essentials like rent, utilities, and groceries during this transition. If you’re not able to give, sharing this page or even keeping me in your thoughts means the world, too.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support. It truly means everything to me.
With gratitude,
Chico Mendez
