Two biologists, both with deep roots, both with a passion for sculpture and poetry.

One of them is still alive (2025).

(We never met each other, are connected transgenerationally.)

Our desire is to broadcast the wild truth about ourselves and all of Nature,

as revealed just now (over the past ~3 human generations) by molecular analysis of cells.

Starting with The Way Life Works (1995, Hoagland & Dodson),

a whimsical and accessible picture-book elucidating the wild fundamentals…

…and a puzzle-toy spun off the book’s cartoon DNA/RNA iconography, called “PlayDNA!”

TeachDNA has future directions:

A ~30th-anniversary refresh of The Way Life Works, with new Comic Commentary, some Rude Interruptions, and an Illustrated Epilogue relating the biggest news in biology since 1995.

More puzzles and games to invite all inquisitive minds into hidden reality.

We look at Nature with awe, and want to share the awesomeness.

We feel humility and deep connectedness, and we think everyone should.
