Teach Me How To Cry - A Short Film
Donation protected
Unable to cry whilst performing on stage, a desperate middle-aged actor is given one last chance to prove himself, and in turn, attends a session with an acting coach who supposedly will transform his performance.
Teach Me How To Cry is a short drama starring renowned Australian actor Lachy Hulme (Offpsring, The Matrix Revolutions) and renowned New Zealand actress Michala Banas (Upper Middle Bogan, Scooby Doo), bringing the characters of Graeme McRae and Lex from script to screen. Hulme and Banas are also joined by other loved Aussie talents such as Justina Noble (Underbelly, Neighbours), Julian Haig (Riverdale, Arrow), and many more to be revealed in the following weeks.
Teach Me How To Cry is soon to be directed by Finegan Sampson (OneHouse) for his final year at Swinburne University of Technology. Behind the team are young filmmakers and ambitious film students who are passionate about their craft who are looking forward to bringing Finegan’s vision to life.
Budget Overview
Presented with the opportunity to work with notable Australian and New Zealand artists and showcase local theatres in Melbourne, one of the challenges faced by filmmakers is the limited budget. Filmmaking is a creative medium which requires funding to bring all elements to life.
All donations will be allocated to:
- Actors
- Locations
- Catering
- Set designing, props and costumes
- Equipment hire
- Marketing
- Film festival entries
Not only are you supporting student filmmakers and the film industry by donating, but you are benefitting other creative industries. Theatre productions and the theatrical arts were heavily affected by the pandemic over the last couple of years, therefore these contributions will help us give back to the local Melbourne theatres we shoot at during production. Let’s help showcase stories of passionate and hardworking talent in the acting industry, alongside those who inspired the story of the short film.
The Teach Me How To Cry team are endlessly thankful for any donations to our project - big or small! To express our gratitude, there are various themed rewards that you can unlock based on the amount donated.
