Teach Di Yutes 2021-2022 Campaign

The Rockhouse Foundation's "Teach Di Yutes" Campaign for 2021-22 is targeting raising $500,000 for our 2022 projects and programs including the expansion of the Sav Inclusive School; building 3rd and 4th grade classrooms, therapy rooms, a new admin building and infrastructure.

The Sav Inclusive School, built from the ground up by the Rockhouse Foundation, is created for typical learners and those with disabilities, learning side-by-side in a full inclusion setting. The school currently educates 165 students from pre-K to 2nd grade.  The Rockhouse Foundation signed a new commitment with Jamaica's Ministry of Eduction to enlarge the school through 12th grade.  Each year for the next decade the Foundation will be adding a new grade so the current 2nd graders have a path right through high school. The understanding also includes additional adjoining lands allocated from the Catholic Church for construction of the expanded primary and high schools.

Since 2004 Rockhouse Foundation  has invested over US$6.5 million in projects improving education for pre-K and Primary school children in western Jamaica. The Foundation has fully modernized and expanded six local schools and the Negril Community Library.

When Jamaica’s borders and schools closed in March 2020, the Foundation immediately pivoted to a major Food Distribution initiative targeting the most vulnerable children and families at each of our four partner schools. Every Friday for over 90 weeks the Rockhouse Foundation has distributed packages of food staples including flour, rice, cooking and powdered milk. The Rockhouse Foundation Food Distribution Initiative is Jamaica’s most enduring and expansive with over 250 tons of food staples having sustained 1000 people weekly.

This gofundme page documents our end of 2021 and start of 2022  endeavors including the Annual Benefit, Giving Tuesday,  Year End Campaign and first quarter of 2022 fund raising, with a goal to raise $500,000 to underwrite our 2022 projects and programs.

All administrative and fundraising costs of the foundation are underwritten by Rockhouse Hotel, Skylark Negril Beach Resort, Miss Lily’s and their owners, so all donations go directly to the projects and programs. The Rockhouse Foundation is an IRS approved New York 501(c)3 and a Jamaican registered charity. The foundation’s work directly impacts the lives of thousands of Negril area children and their families everyday.

With your help, we can create transformative learning opportunities for Jamaican children and their families.
