Hello,

My name is Roxana Ramirez and I am one of five Lower Elementary Montessori Teachers at Logan Memorial Educational Campus (LMEC). Our students are required to learn about botany by using hands-on materials such as soil, seeds, flowers, leaves, roots, and plants.

We are trying to raise funds to buy a self-watering raised planter for each classroom (5). We also need to get a cover for the planters because the students have been learning the hard way that the birds love the worms in our soil. The birds end up destroying our plants that are in small plastic cups- leaving the kids heartbroken because their hard work was decimated by hungry birds.

Please help us get planters with covers for our students. They study hard and they learn so much through these hands-on experiences. As Maria Montessori would say, "what the hand touches, the mind will remember."
