TEA FOR THE SOUL is a student graduation short film written and directed by Mayarí Quiñónez Fuentes. The film is about the young witch Calypso, who has to leave the familiarity of her teashop when her spells begin to fall out of balance and she sets out to uncover the root of the problem. Along the way, she meets other witches who guide her on her journey.

Because the story unfolds in a whimsical teashop, the setting is not just a backdrop. It's part of Calypso's persona, reflecting her motives and personality traits. Filming on location will allow us to capture the warmth, charm, and magic that the story depends on. To bring this world to life authentically, we’re seeking funding not only to secure and shoot in a real tea shop, but also to thoughtfully enhance the space through production design and to provide catering for our cast and crew during the shoot.

As film students, we’re contributing everything we can ourselves: time, labor, resources, ... But bringing this story to life at the level it deserves isn’t possible without additional help.
