Dear Friends of Carol Mahoney,
This fundraiser has been created to help Carol with the many medical expenses involved in her upcoming kidney transplant process. She currently has a team dedicated to finding her a live kidney donor before using dialysis as a treatment plan. As exciting and hopeful as it's been to see this process move quickly, the bills do continue to grow. Reaching this goal will be the next step of many in her journey back to wellness.
As many of you know Carol is positive, energetic and lively, even as her kidney function has declined. This live donation will bring her health back to a state where she can live life to the fullest potential, something she's been very hopeful of and deserves greatly.
Although insurance covers transplant surgery, there will be many necessary uncovered expenses. She is scheduled for many long and costly trips to the hospital for follow-up and close monitoring. This "new lease on life" will require a lifetime of taking immunosuppressant (anti-rejection medications) and other drugs. Ongoing insurance coverage for such drugs is unknown at this time.
If you are able to assist, any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated. All funds will go directly to medical expenses related to the transplant. All of the support and love she's received has given her a great amount of hope so far in the process.
