"I love you baby". Words some of us take for granted. Words some of us might say out of habit. But for my friend Robin, those were the last words she heard her husband say right before he went into surgery on April 26, 2015. And she knew he meant them for her and their children.
Hi! My name is Renee and I'm just one of Robin and Robert's many friends. Family was and still is the most important thing to them. When they adopted the "Fab Five" (as I like to call them) they knew there would be hard times, but with love and God's provision they would make it. That was over two years ago.
Fast Forward to April 23, 2015. Robin posted this on her facebook status and we were all caught off guard:
"Please join my family in praying for Robert Holland as he was admitted to the hospital late Tuesday evening. He is scheduled for open heart surgery tomorrow for a quadruple bypass. We have been completely caught off guard by this but have faith that God will lead him through this. He has a long day ahead tomorrow and an even longer recovery to follow.
We want to thank our closest family and friends from the bottom of our hearts who have been with us since we began this journey and whom have taken care of our beautiful children and whom will continue to, so that we can focus on hard decisions and getting Rob better.
Thank you to all in advance for your prayers! He really needs them! God Bless!"
Now, with just her children, Robin is having to adjust and make decisions that she never thought she would have to make. Things that you and I may take for granted such as "What are we gonna do with the kids for the summer?" "When is football sign-ups again and how am I going to get them to practice?" All of these things take money. Then there is the everyday things of life...the mortgage, the electric bill, groceries, phone, insurance, etc. Life continues even when we have been thrown a "curve ball". The "Fab Five" have already had so much loss in their young lives, I would really like to see them blown away with support. I know that God placed them in Robin and Robert's home.
If you would like to help out, please prayerfully consider donating to the "Holland Gang". Any amount will be greatly appreciated and your reward will be much greater than you ever thought.
