Those who know Ryan Avery know exactly the kind of person he is. Whether it’s on the pitch, in the clubhouse, around the community Ryan always has a smile on his face, time for a chat and is the first to put others before himself. He is a true team player and a hugely popular member of the Flackwell Heath family.
Ryan first joined Flackwell Heath at just nine years old and has dedicated most of his life to the club. He progressed through the youth team winning both league and cup honours before stepping into the Men’s First Team. Over the past four and a half years, Ryan has made more than 200 appearances and played a major role in our historic league winning season in 2024.
Sadly Ryan has suffered a devastating ACL injury at the end of the 25/26 season. To get back to work and back playing football Ryan urgently requires ACL reconstruction surgery costing £9,000. Unfortunately the NHS is unable to see Ryan this calendar year leaving him with no option but to fund the operation privately.
Ryan works in construction, a physically demanding job that he simply cannot do while recovering from surgery. As well as the cost of the operation itself, he faces a loss of earnings during his initial recovery period, adding further financial pressure at an incredibly difficult time.
Our goal is to raise £10,500:
* £9,000 towards Ryan’s ACL reconstruction surgery
* £1,500 to help cover his loss of earnings while he is unable to work
The road ahead is a long one. Ryan faces 9-12 months of rehabilitation before he can return to doing what he loves most playing football. For someone whose life revolves around both football and hard work, this injury is a huge blow.
Every donation no matter how big or small will make a genuine difference and bring Ryan one step closer to getting back on his feet, back to work and back on a football pitch.
Please donate if you can and if you’re unable to contribute sharing this page would mean the world to Ryan and his family.
Thank you for your support. ❤️⚽️
