Anita Thorn is a beloved teacher at Richmond Hill Montessori. She is a single mother and an important part of the Richmond Hill community. Unfortunately, her world was recently turned upside down upon finding out that her youngest daughter, Alyssa, 13 years old, has been diagnosed with leukemia. Due to this seemingly-impossible situation she and her family have now found themselves in, she will be taking time off work for the foreseeable future to be with her daughter at the hospital. We are asking our beloved Richmond Hill community to please step forward and spare anything you are able, even just $5.00. All funds will be used to help her combat the impending hospital fees along with mortgage and other bills that cannot be put on hold during this time. Our hopes are that she and Alyssa will be able to focus on being together and fighting through this horrible disease.
